AC Milan finally found their form on Saturday, delivering a stunning 4-0 thrashing of Venezia at the San Siro. The Rossoneri, who had been under pressure after a slow start to the season, wasted no time in asserting their dominance, scoring all four goals within the opening 30 minutes.
Theo Hernandez set the tone early, breaking the deadlock after just 89 seconds. The French fullback, who had been controversially benched in the previous match, silenced his critics with a clever finish at the near post following a slick exchange with Rafael Leao.
Milan’s onslaught continued as Youssouf Fofana doubled the lead in the 16th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick situation. Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham then converted back-to-back penalties, putting the game beyond reach before the half-hour mark.
This explosive start marked a historic moment for Milan, as it was the first time since October 1958 that they had scored four goals in the opening 30 minutes of a Serie A match.
Paulo Fonseca’s tactical adjustments paid dividends, with Tijjani Reijnders excelling in an advanced role and the returning Leao causing havoc on the left flank. Tammy Abraham, making his first start for Milan, opened his account for the club from the penalty spot.
Venezia’s misery was compounded in the second half when they had a goal disallowed and midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia sent off following a VAR review.
The comprehensive victory provides a much-needed boost for Milan ahead of crucial upcoming fixtures against Liverpool in the Champions League and local rivals Inter Milan in Serie A.
