Scottish international Scott McTominay is set to make his starting debut for Napoli against Juventus, while Bianconeri youngster Nicolò Savona may get the nod for Federico Gatti.
Gatti, who suffered an ankle injury during Juventus’ 3-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, has reportedly recovered. Coach Thiago Motta confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Gatti will be “available,” but according to Sky Sport Italia, he is not yet fully fit. This situation could lead Motta to shift Pierre Kalulu to center-back and start Savona as a right-back.
For Juventus, Francisco Conceiçao and Arkadiusz Milik are the only players unavailable. Manuel Locatelli and Weston McKennie are expected to retain their spots in midfield, as the coach seems inclined to stick with the same lineup that debuted in the Champions League.
On the Napoli side, coach Antonio Conte might make some adjustments following Napoli’s impressive 4-0 win over Cagliari last week. Reports suggest that McTominay will start his first Serie A match, likely pushing either Pasquale Mazzocchi or Matteo Politano to the bench. Mathias Olivera is favored to start on the left flank over Leonardo Spinazzola.
Probable Juventus lineup (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Kalulu, Gatti, Bremer, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Thuram; Nico Gonzalez, Koopmeiners, Yildiz; Vlahovic
Probable Napoli lineup (3-5-2): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Rrahmani, Buongiorno, Olivera; Anguissa, Lobotka, McTominay; Politano, Lukaku, Kvaratskhelia.
