Serie A | Fiorentina v Genoa: Probable starting lineups

Start

Following a heated match against Lazio, Fiorentina face several challenges in their upcoming match against Genoa. The team will be without French midfielder Yacine Adli, who received a red card and is suspended for the weekend. Additionally, head coach Raffaele Palladino was dismissed late in the game and must serve a touchline ban.

Fiorentina have welcomed new signing Pablo Mari, who previously worked with Palladino at Monza. However, the Spanish centre-back is not expected to start in Sunday’s match. There’s positive news on the injury front, as Andrea Colpani and Danilo Cataldi may return from ankle and thigh injuries respectively.

In attack, Albert Gudmundsson is likely to support leading scorer Moise Kean. Interestingly, Kean has yet to find the back of the net against Genoa in Serie A, despite facing them five times.

Genoa’s offensive efforts will be spearheaded by Andrea Pinamonti, though his recent form has been inconsistent. After a strong run of four goals in seven league games, he has managed just one in his last eight appearances. Pinamonti has also struggled at Stadio Franchi, failing to score in six matches there – more than at any other venue.

The visitors have been active in the transfer market, bringing in Jean Onana, Mikael Egill Ellertsson, and Danish defender Sebastian Otoa. However, striker Mario Balotelli, who has a strained relationship with Patrick Vieira, is expected to depart the club.

Genoa’s injury woes have eased slightly, with Junior Messias and captain Milan Badelj returning to the bench last week. Nevertheless, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Mattia Bani remain sidelined for the upcoming match.
