In a thrilling Serie A encounter, Fiorentina staged a remarkable comeback to draw 2-2 with Monza, thanks to a last-gasp equalizer from debutant Robin Gosens. The match, held at the Artemio Franchi, saw Fiorentina overcome a two-goal deficit in dramatic fashion.
Monza took an early lead through Milan Djuric, who capitalized on Pedro Pereira’s low cross. Daniel Maldini doubled their advantage with a spectacular long-range effort, putting the visitors in a commanding position.
Fiorentina’s resurgence began just before halftime when Moise Kean reduced the deficit, scoring from close range following a corner. The home side continued to press in the second half, with Kean and Jonathan Ikone coming close to equalizing.
As the match entered its final stages, Fiorentina’s persistence paid off. In the sixth minute of added time, Gosens, making his debut for the club, rose highest to meet a set-piece delivery, sending a looping header into the far corner of the net.
The result maintains Fiorentina’s unbeaten start under new coach Raffaele Palladino, though they are yet to secure a victory in Serie A this season. For Monza, it was a case of two points dropped after a promising start to the match.
