Serie A | Como v Udinese: Probable starting lineups

Start

Como’s squad is shaping up nicely for their upcoming match with Udinese, with key player Nico Paz back in contention after recovering from an ankle setback. The creative midfielder is likely to be available for selection, potentially starting on the bench.

In attack, Como’s recent acquisition Assane Diao made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut and could retain his starting position. The midfield battle looks competitive, with Maxence Caqueret vying for a spot in the lineup. Leading the frontline, Patrick Cutrone, who has already netted six times this season, is expected to start ahead of Andrea Belotti.

Como’s injury list has shortened, with only Sergi Roberto and Alberto Moreno unavailable due to calf and flexor issues respectively. The team received a boost as Marco Sala and Federico Barba have resumed training.

On the opposing side, Udinese’s attack is spearheaded by Lorenzo Lucca, who has been in fine form with seven Serie A goals, including five headers. Having served his suspension, Lucca is poised to return to the starting eleven, potentially at the expense of Alexis Sanchez.

Udinese’s defense has been bolstered by new signing Oumar Solet, who has contributed to two clean sheets in his first two appearances. He is expected to line up alongside Jaka Bijol and Thomas Kristensen in the backline.

However, Udinese will be without wing-back Kingsley Ehizibue, who picked up a thigh injury recently. He joins a list of sidelined players including Keinan Davis, Oier Zarraga, Lautaro Giannetti, and first-choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.

Como (3-4-2-1): Butez; Goldaniga, Dossena, Kempf; Van der Brempt, Da Cunha, Caqueret, Fadera; Strefezza, Diao; Cutrone

Udinese (3-5-2): Sava; Kristensen, Bijol, Solet; Modesto, Lovric, Karlstrom, Payero, Kamara; Thauvin, Lucca
