Serie A | Cagliari v Lecce: Probable starting lineups

Start

As Cagliari and Lecce prepare to face off in a crucial Serie A encounter, both teams are grappling with significant injury concerns that could shape the outcome of the match.

Cagliari’s defensive line has been hit particularly hard. The team will be without Yerry Mina, who missed their previous match, and Jose Luis Palomino, who was forced to leave the field during their recent draw against Milan. These absences compound the existing issues, with Zito Luvumbo sidelined due to an ankle problem and Jakub Jankto unavailable due to illness.

Lecce’s situation appears even more challenging, with a longer list of players unavailable for selection. Hamza Rafia is the latest addition to their injury list, having missed the previous weekend’s fixture. Medon Berisha continues his absence, now stretching to three consecutive matches. The team is also dealing with longer-term injuries to Kialonda Gaspar (knee), Lameck Banda (ankle), and Joan Gonzalez (illness), all of whom remain in the treatment room.

Despite Lecce’s overall struggles in front of goal this season, Montenegrin forward Nikola Krstovic has been a bright spot. He has contributed an impressive 43% of Lecce’s total goals in Serie A and has shown good form against Cagliari, finding the net in his last two encounters with the Sardinian side.

Cagliari (4-4-2):
Caprile; Zappa, Wieteska, Luperto, Obert; Zortea, Adopo, Makoumbou, Felici; Viola, Piccoli

Lecce (4-3-3): Falcone; Guilbert, Baschirotto, Jean, Dorgu; Helgason, Coulibaly, Pierret; Pierotti, Krstovic, Tete Morente
