Savona’s Pubalgia Battle: Surgery Looms as Last Resort

Start

Juventus have been dealt another significant setback as promising young defender Nicolo Savona is battling a severe case of pubalgia that may require surgical intervention. TMW report that the club’s medical staff are currently exploring all options to manage the condition, with the hope of postponing any invasive procedures until the end of the season.

Pubalgia, also known as athletic pubalgia or sports hernia, is a complex condition affecting the groin area that can be particularly debilitating for athletes. For Savona, who has been a bright spot in Juventus’ defence this season, the diagnosis comes as a cruel blow to both the player and the team.

The Bianconeri are desperately trying to avoid surgery for Savona, as it would likely sideline the talented defender for an extended period. The club’s medical team is working tirelessly to implement conservative treatment methods, aiming to manage the player’s discomfort and potentially delay the need for an operation until the summer break.

This news comes at a particularly challenging time for Juventus, as they are already grappling with a defensive crisis. The team recently lost centre-back Pierre Kalulu to a muscle injury, with the French defender expected to be out of action for 20 to 30 days.

Savona’s potential absence would further deplete Juventus’ defensive options, forcing manager Thiago Motta to reshuffle his backline once again. The young Italian had cemented his place in the starting lineup this season, impressing with his performances and even earning a call-up to the national team.
