Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri believes his team “showed quality in the second half” as they defeated Torino 2-0 in what was just their second league win of the season. Goals from Matias Vecino and Mattia Zaccagni wrapped up the victory for the Biancocelesti in the second period in what was also their first triumph at Stadio Olimpico so far this term. Speaking to Sky Sport, Sarri spoke about the match, Vecino and Daichi Kamada:
“It was a difficult evening with many difficulties, not least that of facing a difficult team. We had a very tidy first half and we showed quality in the second half, it was a high level match.”
“It was a solid team, the defense was put under little pressure. After the first goal the boys broke up.”
On Vecino’s insertions: “Kamada also has this characteristic, today was an attempt to find a more solid midfield. I’m happy with his goal and Rovella’s debut because he played a very high level game, he’s finding decent physical shape after the injury.”
On Kamada: “Kamada has played almost all the time, he was out the last match because he suffered a blow to his knee. He is the most integrated in terms of the game, then it remains to be seen whether the Luis Alberto-Daichi pair will be able to play in some matches. With the two of them we played a good game against Atletico Madrid, it’s not an easy midfield to support but let’s see.”
