Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri wants Piotr Zielinski at Lazio and would reinvest funds from the sale of Sergej Milinkovic Savic to sign him. The pair worked together during Sarri’s time at Napoli and Empoli and the Polish international is reportedly set to leave Naples this summer.
Il Corriere dello Sport report that with Juve in talks to sign Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, Sarri has only ever had one name in mind to replace him: Zielinski.
According to the report, money from the sale of SmS would go straight towards the acquisition of the 29-year-old Polish midfielder, who only has 12 months left on his contract with Napoli.
The Parteopei are unlikely to offer a contract extension as previous reports had suggested they would prefer to reduce the age of the squad by not offering renewals for players aged 30 or over.
