Sancho sets sights on Juventus move, Giuntoli aims for loan deal

Start

Jadon Sancho, the Manchester United winger who spent the last six months on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has once again expressed interest in joining Juventus. The Italian club’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is now BVfor the 24-year-old English international.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Manchester United currently value Sancho at €40-50 million, a figure Juventus consider too high. As a result, Giuntoli is focusing on securing a loan agreement. The potential move aligns with new Juventus manager Thiago Motta’s tactical plans, as he intends to implement a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation, which would suit Sancho’s playing style.

Sancho’s situation at Manchester United remains uncertain, with the player seemingly not part of the club’s future plans. This could work in Juventus’ favor, as United may be forced to lower their demands or consider loan options as time passes.

However, Sancho’s high wages present another obstacle. The winger currently earns €8.5 million net per season, which exceeds Juventus’ salary structure. To facilitate the move, Sancho might need to accept a pay cut, or Manchester United could agree to subsidize part of his wages.

An alternative scenario involves a potential swap deal with Federico Chiesa, whose contract with Juventus expires in 2025. Chiesa’s future at the club is uncertain, especially given that he may not be a priority for Motta’s tactical setup.

Juventus is also considering other options, including Mason Greenwood and Karim Adeyemi, both valued around €40 million. The club has also made inquiries about PSG’s Xavi Simons, who spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig.
