Udinese claimed their second victory of the season and, more importantly, jumped to the top of the league table. Following the match, Udinese coach Kosta Runjaic’s shared his thoughts on the team’s performance and their current standing.
When asked about seeing Udinese at the top of the table, Runjaic responded, “We’re on the right track. We’ve won our second home game and have earned points in all three matches so far. We’re happy with our progress, but there’s still room for improvement. This is a beautiful moment that rewards our preparation. There are steps forward, but also details that need to be improved. Perhaps we’ll manage to win with less confusion at home in the future.”
Runjaic elaborated on the team’s primary focus: “From the beginning, we’ve worked on reinforcing self-awareness. Last season wasn’t easy at all, and we needed to show our strength at home. We had to bring great energy to our stadium. That’s what we’ve done, but we’re still far from the stability we need. Nevertheless, these are very important points that allow us to be at the top of the table. This is the first step in our journey, and it’s crucial to demonstrate that it’s possible to win consistently.”
When informed that Fabregas claimed Como dominated the first and second half, Runjaic diplomatically replied, “If he says so, it must be so…”
Regarding his post-match interaction with Brenner, Runjaic shared, “Nothing in particular, we spoke after the substitution. He didn’t just score; he netted the winning goal. For him, it’s a reward for the great work he’s put in over the past few weeks. Brenner now must not rest on his laurels but continue to work because he has great qualities. However, consistency is needed day by day.”
