As 2025 approaches, Roma are focusing on securing the futures of their emerging talents while also eyeing potential transfers. Mile Svilar and Niccolò Pisilli have been standout performers, particularly impressing in the recent match at San Siro, but their contract situations remain unresolved.
Il Messggero report how Svilar, who won the man of the match award in Milan, has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Manchester City. His current contract runs until 2027 with a salary of €900,000. Roma is considering extending his deal until 2029 with a significant pay raise to around €2 million per season. The goalkeeper has been a key player, ranking fourth in Serie A for saves made.
Pisilli’s contract situation is more pressing, with his current deal set to expire in 2026. The young talent earns €90,000 per season, a figure considered low in professional football. His agents are in talks with the club for an improved contract and extension. Roma aims to secure his future until either 2029 or 2030, depending on when the new deal is finalized.
The delay in contract negotiations is partly due to the absence of a CEO following Lina Souloukou’s resignation in September. Candidates for the position include Antonello and Perrelli.
As the January transfer window approaches, Roma has set three main targets: a striker, a right-back, and a center-back. There’s interest in Marmol from Las Palmas, who has a €10 million release clause. For the future, the club is eyeing young goalkeeper Abrahamowicz from Jagiellonia.
Outgoing transfers are also on the agenda, with Cagliari, Venezia, and Empoli showing interest in Shomurodov. Marseille is looking at Celik and Sildillia, the latter also being a target for Roma.
Regarding the future managerial position, Carlo Ancelotti has distanced himself from rumours linking him to Roma, stating he’s content in his current role. Meanwhile, former Roma player Daniele De Rossi received the “Golden Tapir” award, expressing gratitude to the American ownership for the opportunity they provided him.
