Roma’s journey in the new Europa League: Athletic Club first, Eintracht last, Tottenham in late November

Roma are set to embark on another quest for Europa League glory in the upcoming season. This year’s competition introduces a significant change to its format, mirroring the modifications in the Champions League and Conference League. Instead of the traditional four-team group stage, the tournament will now feature a single league where each team plays eight matches against different opponents.

In this new structure, points accumulated from these encounters will contribute to a unified ranking. The top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16, while those finishing 9th to 24th will compete in an additional playoff. Unfortunately, teams ranked 25th to 36th will be eliminated from the competition.
