Roma’s De Rossi: “This team must fight for the Champions League”

Following Roma’s 1-1 draw against Genoa, where Dovbyk’s goal was matched by De Winter’s late equalizer, Roma’s manager Daniele De Rossi shared his thoughts in a post-match interview with Sky Sport.

De Rossi began by analyzing the match: “We dominated the first half. In the second half, we dropped back a bit to be able to counter-attack. We made too many technical errors, and this gives confidence to your opponents.”

The Roma coach continued: “It was the game we wanted to play. We managed to move them and we managed to keep the ball well. In the first half, we had a few chances to score the second goal.”

Addressing the team’s ambitions and recent performance, De Rossi stated: “I think this is a team that should fight for the Champions League. This is our goal. Whether failing to achieve it becomes a failure is another matter. There are many teams in contention. We had an important transfer market for our objective. However, these lost points weigh on the standings and, above all, on morale.”
