Roma kicked off the new year with an open training session at the Tre Fontane facility, drawing nearly 3,000 passionate supporters eager to cheer on their team ahead of the upcoming derby against Lazio on January 5. The event allowed fans to connect with the players and coaching staff, fostering a sense of community as they prepare for one of the season’s most anticipated matches.

Head coach Claudio Ranieri took a moment during the session to thank the fans for their unwavering support. “You make us feel loved,” he expressed, acknowledging the positive atmosphere created by the enthusiastic crowd. The training session featured a mix of warm-ups and tactical drills, culminating in a friendly match that ended 2-0, thanks to a standout performance from young striker Misitano.

The turnout included families and children, as well as dedicated supporters from the curva, who displayed a banner in anticipation of the derby against Lazio. While many fans applied for tickets, only 2,850 were able to attend due to space limitations, highlighting the high demand for such events.

Ranieri received an especially warm welcome from fans, who showered him with applause and chants throughout the session. He praised the club’s initiative to allow fans closer access to the team, particularly after a long absence from such interactions.

In terms of player availability, Roma trained with most of their squad present. However, midfielder Bryan Cristante will miss the derby due to an ankle injury. In contrast, Ukrainian forward Dovbyk is expected to be fit for selection.

As excitement builds for the derby against Lazio, both players and fans are eager to channel their energy into what promises to be an electrifying encounter at the Stadio Olimpico.
