Roma Secure Nelsson from Galatasaray, Eyes Salah-Eddine as Transfer Window Closes

Start

Roma have made significant strides in bolstering their defence as the winter transfer window draws to a close. The Giallorossi have reached an agreement with Galatasaray for Danish centre-back Victor Nelsson, with the deal expected to be finalized in the early hours of the morning.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Nelsson, a 26-year-old defender, is set to join Roma on a loan deal, filling the void left by Mario Hermoso’s departure to Bayer Leverkusen. This move aligns with Roma’s strategy to strengthen their backline under manager Claudio Ranieri’s guidance.

The loan arrangement for Nelsson proves to be a financially prudent option for Roma, especially when compared to the previously rumoured target, Goglichidze. This approach allows the club to reinforce their squad while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Roma’s transfer activities don’t stop with Nelsson. The club, led by sporting director Ghisolfi, remains active in the market. They have initiated contact with FC Twente regarding Anas Salah-Eddine. While the Dutch club is reluctant to let go of the player, Roma is persistent in their pursuit, particularly if Samuel Dahl departs.
