Roma owners the Friedkin group are reportedly not interested in selling the club, despite recent reports in the Italian press. The news follows a story in Il Corriere dello Sport earlier this week where the newspaper reported that a Saudi Arabian based group was interested in acquiring the Giallorossi.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the owners, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, are not interested in selling the club and have no intention of listening to offers, having purchased the club from James Pallotta in 2020.
According to Gazzetta, the brothers are determined to remain in charge of the Giallorossi and invest more funds in the team, while building a bond with the fans and the city with a view to developing the club over the long term. Among their plans are to build a new stadium in Rome.
Il Corriere dello Sport director Ivan Zazzaroni also denied the reports while speaking in a recent interview with Te la do io Tokyo , stating:
“The Friedkins said there is no intention of selling the club anytime soon and they first want to check what can happen with the stadium as it is as an ambitious work in progress.”
