Roma’s pursuit of the top spots in Serie A hit a snag as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Monza. Despite the setback, manager Ivan Juric remained optimistic about his team’s performance and future prospects.
Juric praised his team’s overall display, stating, “My Roma played a great game. We controlled the match and created numerous scoring opportunities.” He emphasized the need for improved finishing, noting that the team conceded very little defensively.
The manager expressed his admiration for the team’s performance, saying, “I saw a beautiful Roma. Usually, you win these types of matches, but at the moment, things are going a bit differently.” He also alluded to a controversial penalty decision that went against Roma, suggesting it “completed the picture” of their misfortune.
Addressing the equalizer scored by Monza, Juric acknowledged a defensive lapse: “When you concede a goal, you make a mistake. We needed to make a diagonal run. It’s disappointing because we made very few errors today.” He insisted that the team’s approach didn’t change after scoring, and they didn’t sense the impending equalizer.
Reflecting on his initial period as Roma’s manager, Juric provided a positive assessment: “We’ve earned 7 points in the league, although we deserved 9. But we’ve raised our level. The team is expressing itself well, and I always see many good things.”
Juric highlighted the team’s potential and the blend of youth and experience in the squad. “I see good performances and the right things happening. I believe we can do great work here,” he concluded, underlining his confidence in Roma’s future under his guidance.
