Roma keen on Memphis Depay

Start

Roma are being linked with a move for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay and have already held talks with the players entourage. The Dutchman has been sidelined at Barca following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski and has struggled for playing time, leading to reports that he could leave the club in the next transfer window.

Tuttosport and others report that the Giallorossi are in talks with the players representatives as they are looking to boost their attacking options for the second part of the season.

Barcelona are reportedly prepared to allow him leave for €2 million as his contract with the Blaugrana is set to end in June 2023, when he will be a free agent.

Leggo report that the player’s agents have offered him to Roma who are  keen on another ‘big’ signing following the arrival of Paulo Dybala and Gini Wijnaldum in the summer.

Depay’s considerable wage demands could be a potential stumbling block to any deal, but Roma are hoping the that Italian growth decree will help facilitate negotiations revolving around the Dutchman’s earnings.
