Roma’s sporting director Florent Ghisolfi spoke to Mediaset before the Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Sampdoria, addressing several important topics including Paulo Dybala’s future, upcoming transfer moves, and the search for a new manager for next season.
Ghisolfi acknowledged the team’s current struggles, stating, “We’re not having a good league campaign. We’re behind on our objectives, which makes cups like the Coppa Italia and Europa League more important.”
Regarding the recent performance against Como, Ghisolfi expressed a desire for improvement: “We want to play with great aggression. Something we didn’t see in Como…”
On the transfer market, Ghisolfi revealed, “I’ve already said that we want to improve the team in two or three positions. We don’t want to do something just for the sake of it. We must be certain that any player who comes will improve the team.”
Addressing the rumors surrounding Paulo Dybala, Ghisolfi said, “For Paulo, we’re at the beginning of the transfer window, so rumors have started. We know his importance to the team and his feelings for Roma. If something comes up, we’ll listen, but he’s very attached to us. For now, there have been no contacts.”
Regarding the search for a new manager, Ghisolfi explained, “We won’t make an announcement by New Year’s. We don’t want to wait six months, but we want to take the time to make a good choice. We’re looking at everyone, Italians and non-Italians, but knowledge of Serie A will be important in the decision.”
