Roma considering Arnaud Bodart as backup goalkeeper

Start

Roma are focusing on securing a backup goalkeeper for Mile Svilar and are considering Standard Lieges’ Arnaud Bodart. Serbian keeper Svilar was entrusted with goalkeeping duties by Daniele De Rossi when he took over, moving Rui Patricio to the bench. The Portuguese keeper is set to leave Rome at the end of the month, leaving the Giallorossi in need of backup between the sticks.

Sky Sport Italia report that 26-year-old Bodart, currently plying his trade with Standard Liege, is considering high on Roma’s list this summer. He progressed through the club’s youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2017 at the age of 19.

In the previous season, Bodart featured in 29 matches, conceding 35 goals while keeping a clean sheet on 5 occasions. Interestingly, he also boasts a career milestone of scoring a goal himself, achieved in 2020 against Eupen in a league fixture.
