Roma close In on Kevin Danso with new offer to Lens

Start

As the transfer window nears its conclusion, AS Roma is intensifying efforts to bolster their defensive line, with Austrian center-back Kevin Danso emerging as their primary target. The Giallorossi have made significant progress in their pursuit of the Lens defender, edging closer to securing his services on loan with an obligation to buy.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports how on Sunday,  Roma submitted a fresh official offer to Lens for Danso. The proposal includes a paid loan of €1 million with an obligation to purchase set at €21.5 million, plus an additional €1 million in bonuses. This structured deal appears to have found favor with the French club, who are reportedly inclined to accept the terms.

Danso, born in 1998, has caught Roma’s eye with his performances in Ligue 1, and his potential arrival would address the team’s need for defensive reinforcement. The Austrian international’s versatility and physical presence make him an attractive option for Roma’s backline.

As negotiations enter their final stages, the likelihood of Danso donning the Roma jersey for the upcoming season seems increasingly probable. This transfer would represent a significant coup for the Italian side, adding depth and quality to their squad as they prepare for domestic and European challenges.
