Reports in Italy suggest Roberto Mancini could be appointed as head coach of the Saudi Arabia national football team. The 58-year-old announced his decision to resign from the Azzurri yesterday, following five-years in charge of Italy.
Saudi-based newspaper Al-Riyadh revealed that Mancini has been made an offer to become the new head coach on a three year contract.
Sky Sport Italia claim that the former Lazio and Inter manager has been offered around €18 million a year to take charge of the Saudi national side.
Despite the reports, it’s also been suggested elsewhere that talks between the two parties will continue this week before an official proposal is made
Mancini led Italy to glory at EURO 2020 in 2021, but also failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
