A report from French outlet RMC claims PSG are targeting Roma coach Jose Mourinho to replace Christophe Galtier this summer. The Frenchman has failed to impress in his only season with the Parisiens and is likely leave the Ligue 1 champions when the current campaign comes to an end. RMC report that Galtier’s departure has not yet been communicated by the owners, but they are already looking for a replacement.
The report outlines how sporting director Luis Campos has Mourinho at the top of his list of potential replacement for Galtier, although he has yet to make contact with the Portuguese tactician. The duo know each other well from their time at Real Madrid and RMC claim that the idea of hiring the three-time Premier League winning coach is gaining traction in the French capital. They point to Mourinho’s ability to ‘impose his choices’ as a reason for the potential appointment, as well as his track record in the Champions League in previous years.
In Doha there is no longer much doubt about the future of Christophe Galtier, however his successor is the subject of many discussions. Several names are circulating but there is no real concrete progress. Thiago Motta, Julian Nagelsmann and, more surprisingly, Mikel Arteta are being followed, according to RMC.
