Roma look set to terminate the loan of Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, sending him back to PSG a full six months early. The former Lille and Benfica man joined the Giallorossi for a season long loan in June 2022, but stuttering form and injuries have seen him limited to just a handful of appearances, many of them from the bench.
The situation was compounded when he came off the bench in Roma’s 2-0 defeat to Bologna, only to be substituted himself after less than 20 minutes on the pitch.
Sky Sport Italia’s transfer maestro Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that the Giallorossi ‘could say goodbye early to the Portuguese midfielder as early as next week, sending him back to the Ligue 1 champions.
Despite being expected to return to France, Turkish side Besiktas are reportedly pushing for Sanches and there could be new developments soon. However, the Istanbul based club are not the only one’s to have expressed interest in the former Bayern Munich and Benfica man on loan.
