Real Madrid in crisis: Ancelotti’s job at risk

Start

According to shocking reports from Relevo, Carlo Ancelotti’s position as Real Madrid manager is under serious threat, despite his contract running until June 30, 2026. The club’s board, led by President Florentino Perez, is reportedly dissatisfied with the team’s recent results and overall performance this season.

The reigning European champions have faced significant setbacks, including a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico and a disappointing 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the Champions League. These results have left Real Madrid 9 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and struggling in the Champions League with only six points from four matches, currently outside the top 8 that would guarantee direct qualification to the round of 16.

Beyond the poor results, Relevo report that Ancelotti is struggling to integrate all the star players effectively, particularly after Kylian Mbappe’s arrival. The French superstar’s presence has not elevated the team’s performance as expected. Additionally, Jude Bellingham is yet to score his first goal of the season, failing to build on his impressive debut campaign.

Another point of contention is the lack of playing time for young prospects Endrick and Arda Guler, whom the club views as crucial for its future. This situation is reportedly frustrating the Real Madrid board and could contribute to a potential mid-season managerial change.

Such a decision would be extraordinary, considering Ancelotti’s success since his return to Madrid, including two Champions League titles and a total of ten trophies in three years. However, if the situation continues to deteriorate, Spanish sources suggest that drastic measures could be taken, with Raul Gonzalez Blanco and Santiago Solari reportedly ready to step up to the first team if needed.
