Prominent football agent Enzo Raiolarecently provided insights into the summer transfer window experiences of some of his clients in an extensive interview with Tuttosport (via TMW). Among the various situations he addressed was that of midfielder Ismael Bennacer and his eventful summer at AC Milan.
Regarding Bennacer’s situation, Raiola explained, “It’s simple. There was some chatter, but he never questioned his desire to stay at Milan. It’s not easy to leave the Rossoneri.”
The agent also touched upon former Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is now beginning to discuss a contract renewal with Paris Saint-Germain. Raiola stated, “There are still two years left on his contract, so there’s no rush. However, initial discussions about renewal have taken place, and from our side, there’s a complete willingness to stay. A return to Italy? I’ll say ‘never say never’ too, but at the moment it’s practically impossible.”
Raiola also commented on Giacomo Bonaventura’s recent departure from Serie A, saying, “Al Shabab wanted him badly. In January, during the Supercup in Riyadh, he met the club’s sporting director, Domenico Teti. Can you believe they ‘sequestered’ him in Tenerife, where the team was in pre-season training, until his contract was approved by the Minister of Sport?”
