Rafa Leao: ‘I’ve been practising my headers’

Start

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao admitted that he has been practising his headers in training, having scored a brace today against Lecce. The 23-year-old was decisive for the Rossoneri, breaking the deadlock with a brilliant header from a set-piece before securing three points with a wonderful solo goal. Speaking with DAZN (as quoted by MilanNews) the Portuguese international through his performance and why getting back on the scoresheet was important to him after a brief goal drought:

“I always try to do what I did today, even if I don’t make assists, to help my team-mates. Today it was important to win, it’s been a long time since we’ve done it in the league. With these teams who play deep, it’s difficult to score but the goal in the first half was important. In the second we managed to score the second.

“It’s nice to score. I thought about it before the match, today I had to score. It’s always nice to score goals at San Siro with these great fans.”

“Headers? Yes, even after training I practice on headers. The coach says I have to score more headers with my size.”

“We are having an incredible season in the Champions League and next year we have to come back and fight with the best teams in Europe.”

“Juve’s points penalty? We do our job, we don’t look at the others. We try to do our job and today we did it and we’re happy.”
