Daniele De Rossi’s SPAL are in talks with former Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan over a free transfer. The pair played alongside one another in the capital and 34-year-old Nainggolan is currently a free agent after the termination of his contract with Royal Antwerp. The former Belgian international was caught smoking an e-cigarette on the bench during a loss to rivals Standard Liege, and was shown the door soon after.
La Gazzetta dello Sport among others now report that SPAL are offering Nainggolan a short-term deal of a six-month contract worth €200,000. The Belgian is asking for at least €500,000 to pen the deal, but negotiations between the two parties are ongoing with SPAL prepared to pay up to €300,000 plus various add-ons linked to appearances, goals and play-off qualification.
Nainggolan is also reportedly weighing up offers from former club Cagliari as well as Salernitana and Hellas Verona, who have made their interested known.
