Stefano Pioli has stated that his side must maintain their focus on Saturday’s game as Milan welcome Lazio to San Siro. It has been a very heavy schedule for Serie A team’s of late as they had midweek games this week. The Rossoneri were able to record a 3-1 win away to Cagliari on Wednesday. The likes of Milan and Lazio will also return to Champions League action next week.
Pioli has spoken in his recent press conference ahead of their match-up with Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio on Saturday and discussed playing in both the league and Europe, Rafael Leao and provided an update on the injured Ismael Bennacer:
“We are well, we want to find the right continuity to do well in the league and in the Champions League. We have to focus only on tomorrow. We have always experienced the negative and positive moments with balance. The derby was not the end of our journey, but a new beginning from which to start again. Now we are not perfect, we are not flawless, but we can put in our best performance tomorrow.”
On Rafael Leao: “Does Leao piss me off with certain attitudes? If he misses a pass it doesn’t mean he has played a bad game. Obviously someone like Rafa has to make as few mistakes as possible.”
On Bennacer’s recovery: “Specific preparation begins in mid-October, we spoke the other day and he is better. However, the timeframe is still quite long and not yet so precise to define”.
