Pierre Kalulu, Juventus’ new defender, addressed the media in his first press conference since joining the club and making his debut against Hellas Verona. The former AC Milan player shared his thoughts on his move, his fitness, and his ambitions with the Bianconeri.
On his first impressions, Kalulu stated, “The initial feelings are very good. It’s a very welcoming group, they’ve received me well. We’ve also won, which is always better to start with. I’m feeling good.”
Regarding what he brings to the team, he said, “I’ll give my best. I bring my characteristics, in defense with energy and speed. I’ll give everything I can.”
Kalulu emphasized the importance of manager Thiago Motta in his decision to join Juventus: “I’ve seen how the coach worked with his previous teams, who played well. His importance was fundamental. On the phone, I felt someone who really wanted to have me.”
When asked about Juventus’ Scudetto chances, Kalulu remained cautious: “We’ve started well. It’s a team that wants to win every game. We’re at the beginning, and we’re trying to do the best we can.”
Addressing his career move, he reflected, “I believe strongly in God. If an opportunity comes, it always comes at the right time. When Juventus comes, it’s always an opportunity to do well. Everyone watches them, and for me, it’s a great opportunity to experience.”
On his physical condition, Kalulu reassured, “I’ve had some problems, which can happen in a career. Today I feel good and fit. For the Roma game, the choice is up to the coach.”
Looking forward to playing at the Allianz Stadium, he expressed excitement: “The first times are always very emotional, exciting, seeing the stadium full, the fans, having a feeling that we players experience. I’m looking forward to this with excitement and can’t wait for it to arrive.”
