Inter Milan’s latest signing, Petar Sucic, has officially arrived in Milan to begin his journey with the Nerazzurri. The 21-year-old Croatian midfielder, acquired from Dinamo Zagreb for €16 million (including add-ons), landed at Linate Airport early this morning and is set to undergo his medical examinations before signing a five-year contract with the Serie A giants.
A Promising Addition for Inter
Sucic, a highly-rated talent born in 2003, is seen as a key reinforcement for Inter’s midfield. The club views him as a potential long-term successor to Hakan Çalhanoğlu and a versatile option capable of filling multiple roles. His arrival aligns with Inter’s strategy of lowering the squad’s average age while maintaining quality and depth.
The deal includes an upfront payment of €14 million to Dinamo Zagreb, with an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses. Dinamo will also retain 10% of any future transfer fee if Inter decides to sell Sucic.
Settling into Milan
Although Sucic will remain with Dinamo Zagreb for the rest of the season, he is already acclimating to his future home. Tonight, he is expected to attend the Serie A clash between Inter and Fiorentina at San Siro, offering him a glimpse of the atmosphere he will experience as a Nerazzurri player starting next season.
Looking Ahead: Club World Cup Debut?
Sucic’s official debut for Inter could come as early as this summer during the inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The tournament, scheduled from June 15 to July 13, will mark the conclusion of an extended 2024/25 season. Inter fans are eagerly anticipating seeing their new signing in action on such a prestigious stage.
Recent Form and Injury Recovery
Before his transfer, Sucic made 17 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb this season, contributing three goals and two assists across all competitions. However, his campaign was interrupted by a fractured fifth metatarsal sustained during a Nations League match against Scotland in November. He is expected to return to action by March, giving him time to regain form ahead of his move to Italy.
