Lazio winger Pedro responded to José Mourinho’s comments: ‘We all know how Mou is…..he says one thing, then another.’ The Special One had suggested that Pedro was diving during the Rome Derby, but Pedro shrugged off the suggestion in an interview with SportItalia:
“We all know how Mou is, he did it in the past. He says one thing, he says another. I remember when we won against his Real Madrid he said other things, when we beat his United 4-0 (I was at Chelsea), he said more. Last year, in the Rome derby, he said more. It is always so, when he does not talk about the referee he talks about the fixture list, players throwing themselves to the ground.
“I know him very well, he’s a very funny man. I took it with a pinch of salt because I know he uses words to soften the great tension of the derby. I know him very well, having had him as a coach.”
“My switch from Roma to Lazio? History was born at a press conference, because it was announced that I was out of the roster. From that moment on, many teams began to call, one of these was Lazio. Sarri himself asked me, “What’s going on? I saw that you are out of the squad and you have a problem with the club.” I told him that I did not know the reason for this decision of the club and that I was training with Primavera. We never talked about it. He wanted to understand what had happened because, knowing me very well, I always want to train to the maximum.
“I didn’t talk to Mourinho. I wanted to talk to the club, but they told me it wasn’t possible. So after three weeks, with the mercato closing, I talked to Sarri and he said to me, ‘Come here, there’s room for you.’ I had already worked with him and I took the opportunity to play in a historic team.”
