Pecchia dismisses exit rumors, focuses on Como clash

Parma manager Fabio Pecchia addressed the media ahead of his team’s crucial match against fellow promoted side Como, taking the opportunity to strongly refute recent rumors about his potential departure from the club.

“What bothered me were the falsehoods,” Pecchia stated firmly. “Rumors accompany every coach, but when there’s no basis in reality, it really bothers me. There’s absolutely no truth to it, and it should be condemned. Our focus is on Como, the rest is to be condemned.”

The coach expressed his frustration with the unfounded speculation, emphasizing the importance of factual reporting and the need to focus on the upcoming match.

Pecchia then discussed how the team used the international break: “There was a break, another one in November, and then no more for a while. We always hope that the players returning from national teams come back in good condition. We worked well at Collecchio, but there’s always a watchful eye on the 7-8 players away, who are a high percentage of the squad. What happened here makes me confident; I saw the right application.”

When asked about the team’s performance so far this season, Pecchia expressed satisfaction with their playing style: “Seeing the team play this way is beyond expectations. We haven’t changed our nature; in every match against teams with structure and experience, we’ve always competed. It’s a very positive fact that we’ve continued to do what we know. Of course, there’s regret for not winning matches we deserved to win. Results have slipped through our fingers; the field says we could have collected more points.”
