Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has expressed his relief and gratitude following the reduction of his doping ban from four years to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The Juventus player, who had been suspended since September 2023, can now look forward to returning to professional football in March 2025.

In a heartfelt statement, Pogba declared, “Finally, the nightmare is over.” The 31-year-old footballer, who has consistently maintained his innocence throughout the ordeal, added, “I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again.”

Pogba reiterated his stance on the doping allegations, stating, “I always stated that I never knowingly breached Anti-Doping regulations, I play with integrity and I want to thank the Court of Arbitration who heard my explanation.”

The former Manchester United star acknowledged the emotional toll the ban had taken on him, saying, “This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I’ve worked so hard for has been put on hold.”

Despite the challenges he faced, Pogba expressed gratitude for the support he received during this difficult time. “Thank you for all the love and support,” he said, showing appreciation for those who stood by him throughout the process.

Looking ahead to his return to the pitch, Pogba concluded his statement with enthusiasm, exclaiming, “I can’t wait to get back on the pitch!”

The reduction of Pogba’s ban allows him to resume training with Juventus in January 2025, with the possibility of playing competitive matches again in March of the same year. This decision not only revives Pogba’s career but also potentially strengthens Juventus’s squad for the latter part of the 2024-2025 season.
