Paul Pogba and Juventus set for contract termination

Start

In a significant development for both Paul Pogba and Juventus, advanced discussions are underway regarding the termination of the midfielder’s contract with the club. This decision comes in the wake of Pogba’s recent doping ban, which has overshadowed his time at Juventus since his return from Manchester United.

Sky Sports report how Pogba, who was initially handed a four-year suspension following a positive drug test, successfully appealed to have his ban reduced to 18 months. This ruling allows him to resume training in January 2025 and potentially return to competitive action by March. However, it appears that he will not be doing so while wearing the black and white stripes of Juventus.

The French World Cup winner joined Juventus in July 2022, marking a highly anticipated return after his first spell with the club from 2012 to 2016. Unfortunately, his second stint has been plagued by injuries and controversies. Since rejoining, Pogba has made only 12 appearances, with his last game being over a year ago.

Both Pogba and Juventus are reportedly in agreement that parting ways is the best course of action. With his contract set to run until 2026, a mutual termination would allow Pogba to seek new opportunities elsewhere as he aims to revive his career.
