Ahead of Parma’s upcoming match against Monza, head coach Fabio Pecchia held a press conference to discuss the team’s situation and the January transfer market. With the club looking to strengthen its squad, Pecchia emphasized the need for reinforcements.
“The objective is clear and we repeat it every week: we must hold onto our place in the league,” he stated. “The standings are taking shape; there is a group that is having a separate season and another that is fighting to stay up. The final goal will be achieved by a margin of points. That said, we have approached this season with a very young squad that has faced extraordinary situations. We have four players who have undergone surgeries, so it’s evident that we need to intervene in the market. From a numerical standpoint, this squad needs to be reinforced.”
When asked how this young team is coping with their current challenges, Pecchia replied, “We need to give a little more because we did not do enough in the last game. We must face this moment with spirit, personality, and with the environment pushing us in that direction. We need that support.”
Regarding preparations for such an important match with numerous absences, he confirmed that Delprato would not be available but noted that the rest of the squad remains intact from last week. “We cannot change what is outside our control. We must focus on the match itself, on concentration and mental aspects. Everyone needs to be focused on the players who are available and on the group we have because we need to provide answers on the pitch.”
