Leandro Paredes has clear ideas about his future, and at Roma, they are well aware of how the Argentine midfielder is planning his next moves before ending his playing career. The 30-year-old has a contract with the Giallorossi until June 30, 2025, and after saying no to the €10 million per year offered by Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, the feeling is that for the former Juventus and PSG player, the path is already set. Speaking about his future, the midfielder joked that he plans to return to Boca one day, and take teammate Paulo Dybala with him:
“I want to take Dybala with me to Boca. I want him to make this crazy move. Imagine, we watched the Copa Libertadores final at my house. My daughter was crying so much (Boca lost 2-1 in extra time to Fluminense), and I told her: ‘It will happen someday, if daddy goes back… And then Uncle Paulo will come with us too…’ He laughed at that moment, but you’ll see, I’ll try.”
Like Paredes, Dybala’s contract also expires on June 30, 2025, and it includes a famous release clause of €12 million that can be activated this summer until July 31 by any foreign club. Dybala also turned down a 20 million euro offer from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr to move to Saudi Arabia, and with his new wife Oriana Sabatini, his connection to Argentina remains very strong. While this scenario is not impossible, for now, both players are central to Roma’s plans for this season.
