Paratici on Conte: ‘I think the decision we’ve made is the right one for everyone’

Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici discussed the recent termination of head coach Antonio Conte in an interview with the club. As quoted by Sky Sport Italia, Paratici spoke about the decision to part ways with the former Inter boss, the current season and how Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason can finish off the campaign for Spurs.

“We know how difficult this season has been for him (Conte) personally, Gian Piero Ventrone and Gianluca Vialli died, then he underwent surgery.”

“The club supported him, we were close, but in the end we’ve come to this mutual agreement, I think the decision we’ve made is the right one for everyone. Now it’s up to Stellini who had managed the team even when Antonio was ill this season and he was good. He has a lot of experience as an assistant and was also a head coach in the past. Then we also have Ryan Mason who can help him a lot, he has been with this club for a long time and knows everything about the team and the players. We are confident that they can do a great job. The players won’t have to change their habits and training style, I think changing everything when there are only 10 games left is complicated to make them adapt.”

“I would like to dwell not only on this season, but also on the past one. When I arrived here we talked about ‘rebuilding the foundations’ and at the end of the season we obtained a great result, qualifying for the Champions League. This year we got through the group and then we went out against Milan. The goal is to make the team and the club grow. We could have done better in the FA Cup against Sheffield United. Every time you lose a game there are regrets. We want to finish this season well and be even better next season.”
