Raffaele Palladino compared Monza’s 3-1 win over Verona to a ‘final’, praising his young players for their spirit in the victory. The win means the Biancorossi have suffered just one defeat in their last 8 matches, taking them up to 8th in the Serie A standings. Speaking with Sky Sport Italia in the post-match, Palladino highlighted the growth and development of his young squad, crediting their success to more than just the goalscorers:
“We got three points, today was like a final. We had to be aware of the delicate moment and to put in such a performance was remarkable. We had a great week, I saw great willingness to work, it’s thanks to everyone, even those who came in off the bench. So many young people are growing, there’s a great environment. Beyond the victories, this growth of everyone is a great satisfaction. We suffered a bit from Verona’s pressure but we were good at containing it and then scored two more goals.”
“It’s really nice and a great satisfaction for the club. Credit must be given to Dr. Galliani, to the managers, and it’s what our president wanted. A great job has been done.
