Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino expressed satisfaction with his team’s progress following a 0-0 draw against Venezia at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. In his post-match comments, Palladino highlighted several positive aspects of the performance while acknowledging areas for improvement.
“There are always difficulties, but today I want to congratulate the team because I saw growth in terms of our play without the ball,” Palladino stated. “We took zero risks, and I saw a step forward in our development. It was the same in the second half, except for a few balls down the sides. Obviously, there’s room for improvement, and it takes a bit of time and patience.”
Looking ahead to Thursday’s crucial European fixture, Palladino said, “I expect improvements during the week. I’ll work in these days to be ready for the game in Hungary. It’s do or die, and we know it will be a battle. We need to have the attitude we had today.”
Addressing the pressure from the stadium atmosphere, Palladino praised the supporters: “I heard the fans singing from the 1st to the 95th minute, and I have to thank them for that. They are our family. Of course, we wanted to give them a victory, but there’s absolutely no pressure. We need mental balance and a positive environment. Patience is needed, and I’m sure the steps of growth will come.”
When questioned about potential distractions from the open transfer market, Palladino dismissed any concerns: “I’ve been in this world for over 20 years. Certain rumors haven’t affected us at all; on the contrary, we’ve seen a step of growth. Today I saw in the possession phase what I would like to see, but let’s leave the guys in peace.”
Regarding player Andrea Colpani’s performance, Palladino explained, “The workload for him has been high. He has struggled a lot and worked triple because he had some physical issues. He should only be thanked, and I’m sure he will soon find his best form. We work hard every day, both here and at Viola Park. Soon we will find the right automatisms.”
