Fiorentina’s European journey is set to resume as they prepare to face Puskas Akademia in the Conference League preliminaries tomorrow. Manager Raffaele Palladino addressed the media in a press conference, discussing the upcoming match and the ongoing transfer market situation.
Palladino began by emphasizing the significance of the match and the Conference League for Fiorentina’s season: “As far as I’m concerned, I’m excited. We need to be focused, and we are very charged and motivated. We’re ready, I’ve seen a great attitude from everyone. For us, the Conference League is extremely important, a competition where we care about doing well, and we’ll approach it in the best possible way. The boys have done great work and made great progress in past years; finals can be won or lost. We care about doing well.”
Regarding the midweek fixture, Palladino explained: “There won’t be a typical week, but nothing will change. Playing more means seeing more things in the match. Having an incomplete squad will need to be managed, it’s my job to do so, but I see that the boys are giving their all, and I also rely on them. I need to understand who is fresher and who is doing well, to face the match in the best possible way.”
Finally, Palladino commented on Nico Gonzalez’s situation: “I have a great dialogue with him. We’ve said what we needed to say, but this is a matter related to the transfer market. It’s inconceivable that the market is open while we’re playing, but this is an issue between him and the club. I focus on my players; we’re not distracted by anything or anyone.”
