Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino expressed his surprise and delight at the team’s remarkable progress ahead of their Conference League match against APOEL. Speaking to Sky Sport, Palladino emphasized the importance of maintaining a grounded approach despite the team’s recent success.
“It’s not difficult to keep our feet on the ground,” Palladino stated. “The team is mentally focused and doing well. We want to compete in all competitions, but we’re aware that we haven’t achieved anything yet. We’re here knowing we’re facing a good team, and we want to put in a strong performance.”
When asked about his expectations for player rotation, Palladino dismissed the concept of a traditional “turnover.” He explained, “For me, turnover doesn’t exist. There’s a squad and very important players. Tomorrow, I’ll field the best lineup, and whoever plays will do well, with motivation. I expect a great attitude, mentality, and hunger, which should never be lacking.”
Reflecting on the possibility of securing an eighth consecutive victory, Palladino admitted his surprise at the team’s rapid improvement. “Honestly, I didn’t expect such a change, such incredible maturity from the players. Everything happened very quickly and beautifully. An incredible chemistry has been created; there’s a magical atmosphere in the locker room. The team works well, is attentive to everything, and takes good care of themselves off the field. But we haven’t accomplished anything yet. I want to maintain the humility that distinguishes us after overcoming what we could call a negative period at the beginning.”
Regarding the upcoming match against APOEL, Palladino showed respect for their opponents. “They’re a team that has won many championships and has an excellent coach. They have good technique, play well with the ball, and have some strong individuals. Then there’s the home field advantage, with many spectators expected. We need to be ready.”
