Palladino: “No quarrel with Quarta and Biraghi. I have read so many falsehoods”

Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino recently spoke to Sky Sports from the Viola Park, offering insights into the team’s performance and addressing recent transfer speculations. The coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s achievements both in the league and in the Conference League.

“I think the balance is extremely positive both in the league and in the Conference,” Palladino stated. He highlighted significant victories against top teams like Milan, Roma, and Lazio, while acknowledging the unexpected loss of points against Udinese. “We’re satisfied with the 32 points, with one game still to be recovered,” he added, noting that maintaining the pace of eight consecutive wins was challenging and a dip in form was anticipated.

Palladino emphasized his confidence in the team’s future, citing the players’ training attitude as a source of optimism. “What leaves me calm is seeing how the boys train: this gives me hope for the future,” he remarked.

Addressing recent rumors about conflicts within the team, particularly regarding Martinez Quarta and Cristiano Biraghi, Palladino was quick to dismiss them. “I’ve read many lies, there was no argument,” he clarified. “I have a great relationship with both Biraghi and Martinez Quarta.”

The coach explained the situations of both players. Regarding Quarta, Palladino said, “He had less space than he thought, and having received this offer from Argentina, he asked to leave.” As for Biraghi, Palladino revealed, “We sat down at the table, with the club present, and by mutual agreement, he decided that he would leave in January.”

Palladino stressed that his choices are always made in the best interest of Fiorentina. “My choices are always made for the good of Fiorentina, so no arguments. As long as the boys are available, I look at the aspect of meritocracy, and if I deem it appropriate, I field them for the good of the team. This applies to Parisi and to everyone else,” he explained.

On the topic of the transfer market, Palladino remained cautious. “We know what we need, but the market is unpredictable, it can change every minute,” he said. “We want to do few things but do them well. To raise the level and be ambitious as this club certainly is, we need something, but I deal more with the technical part.”

The coach also mentioned the recent acquisition of Valentini, stating that the focus now is on integrating him through training. Palladino emphasized the importance of recovering all players, saying, “I can’t afford to lose anyone. I have many individual meetings and try to understand why someone might not be performing at 100%.”
