Palladino emphasizes strong start and Kean’s Importance against Venezia

Start

Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino addressed the media ahead of his team’s Serie A match against newly-promoted Venezia, reflecting on their recent Europa Conference League debut and outlining expectations for the upcoming fixture.

Palladino began by expressing his gratitude to the fans for their support during the European match: “It was emotional to play at the Franchi in front of our fans. I want to thank them for their support from start to finish, which gave us that extra push. The regret is not having given them a victory, but we’ll try tomorrow.”

Addressing the challenge of managing three games in a week, Palladino emphasized the competitiveness of his squad: “The roster is very competitive and used to playing three games in a week. As far as I’m concerned, there are no hierarchies, so whoever deserves to play and gives their all goes on the field, and the boys know this.”

Regarding the upcoming match against Venezia, Palladino cautioned against complacency: “The pitfalls in Serie A are always around the corner. We face a newly promoted team that wants to show off, with a very good coach and players who know each other well. But we want to play our game, we want to put Venezia in difficulty and score points.”

The manager acknowledged the need to improve the team’s approach, particularly after their slow start in the European match: “The approach wasn’t the best, especially in the cup, and we need to improve. This is my job to work on this mental aspect because we can’t start with a disadvantage.”

Palladino expressed his satisfaction with Moise Kean’s recent goal-scoring form: “We wanted Moise at all costs, and I’m happy to coach him because he’s strong. He arrived with enthusiasm, energy, positive charge, and great humility, and this is seen on the field, both when he plays from the start and when he comes on as a substitute. This is the attitude I want from everyone because we need to become a solid and cohesive group.”
