Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino expressed optimism and determination ahead of his team’s crucial Conference League playoff return leg against Puskas Akademia. Following a 3-3 draw in the first leg, Fiorentina faces a must-win situation to advance in the competition.
Speaking to Sky Sport on the eve of the match, Palladino stated, “There’s optimism, there’s confidence, we’re charged up for tomorrow. The first leg taught us that pitfalls are always around the corner, the Conference League is not easy. We’re here to put in a great performance, we want to progress because we care about playing in this competition.”
Addressing the ongoing transfer market speculation, particularly surrounding midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, Palladino clarified the player’s status: “Called up? As we’ve always said, the transfer market can be disruptive, but it shouldn’t affect us because the players I have are great professionals. I love them all. Sofy is a great professional, and as long as he remains with us, he will give his all.”
Reflecting on Fiorentina’s start to the season, Palladino acknowledged the challenges faced: “These three matches have been tricky. We want to gift our fans a victory, and we also need that spark that would ignite enthusiasm. We know that football is also about results, and discontent is understandable. In this phase, there are teams that are more brilliant, but I’m calm because we’ve worked well.”
He concluded on an optimistic note: “I’m sure the fruits of our labor will be seen soon. It’s been a peculiar preparation phase, also due to national team commitments and late arrivals. We’re on a path of growth and reconstruction, and with the support of our fans, we’ll achieve great results.”
