Raffaele Palladino confirmed that Papu Gomez’ appeal against an anti-doping ban has been rejected: “The club will communicate it.” The Biancorossi boss was speaking ahead of their match with Genoa on Saturday and confirmed the news, as well as shedding some light on his future with the club:
“I am deeply connected to both the city and Genoa. During those seasons, we achieved great satisfaction. It was the Genoa of a master like Gasperini. They are indelible memories that will remain forever.”
Palladino revealed that Papu Gomez’s appeal has been rejected: “The appeal has been rejected, from what I know. The club will communicate it.”
He then clarified his stance regarding his own future: “My future is the match against Genoa. I always put a lot of effort and passion into everything I do. I would like this season never to end. At the beginning of the year, I would have struggled to believe that I would be in this situation. Speculations about my future are off the field, so I’m not interested. We must respect Lazio and Sarri.”
Lastly, he outlined Monza’s objectives: “I will always say obvious and predictable things, but our goal is only to do well against Genoa. This club’s goal was survival, and we are close to achieving it. Anything beyond that will be a bonus. There are stronger teams ahead of Monza. We will try, but it will be very difficult to climb up the table.”
