Victor Osimhen believes Napoli have the squad and the belief to go all the way in the Champions League: ‘Anything is possible.’ The Nigerian international was on target yet again in the Partenopei’s match against Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring a brace to see them into the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time in their history. Speaking with BT Sport after the match, the striker explained why he didn’t take the penalty that would have earned him a hattrick and who he would like to face in the next round of the competition:
“It feels good, it feels amazing, it is a huge win. Congratulations to the team for the performance from the whole squad. We want to keep going like this into the next round and we are ready for it.”
“The first goal, I know Politano and when he comes on to his right foot, he will try to get the ball into the box. We have been training for this, so I had to anticipate for this ball.
“On the penalty, Zielinski asked if he could take it and I said of course. I am a team player, it doesn’t matter who scores, as long as the team achieves success. That is the most important thing.
“It’s good to have this mentality from the squad and I am happy with this win.”
“City or Chelsea in the QFs? It’s going to be a huge match, it’s going to be great. We are also doing well, we are top club, it’ll be good to have a draw with a very good club. We are ready for it, we are ready for any big team.”
“Winning the Champions League? I think anything is possible, we have the squad to achieve this dream. Of course we take it step by step and see what happens.”
