Napoli striker Victor Osimhen addressed the speculation on his future once again, saying: ‘I’m at one of the biggest clubs, I can’t ask for anything better’. The Nigerian international is set to return to the pitch in the Partenopei’s vital Champions League quarter-final game against Milan this week, and ahead of the match, he spoke with TG5 (as quoted by Calciomercato) about the importance of the game, how the team are looking forward to finally lifting the scudetto, and what the future holds for him:
“We are close to the Scudetto and we are looking forward to realizing our dream. We have always believed in it, we have always thought we could do something exceptional even when no one believed in it. The city is overwhelming, the affection of the people extraordinary. Never have we received so much love. I can’t wait to celebrate the Scudetto at the stadium with them.”
“Racism in football? I will fight to stop it, because it is not nice to be judged by the color of your skin, and this harms everyone and affects people’s lives.”
“My future? I am in a great team and my career is growing. I’m at one of the biggest clubs, I can’t ask for anything better.”
The 24-year-old is Napoli’s top scorer for the season and is also likely to snag the Serie A Capocannoniere title, having found the net 21 times so far this season, his nearest competitor for the award being Lautaro Martinez, who has 14 goals for Inter.
