As the summer transfer window enters its final month, the future of Napoli’s star striker Victor Osimhen remains shrouded in uncertainty. While initial expectations pointed towards a likely departure, recent developments have cast doubt on the Nigerian’s imminent exit from the Italian club.
Paris Saint-Germain, long considered the frontrunners for Osimhen’s signature, have yet to make the decisive move that Napoli anticipated. This hesitation has left both the player and the club in a state of limbo, unable to find a mutually satisfactory solution that would facilitate Osimhen’s transfer and pave the way for his potential replacement, rumored to be Romelu Lukaku.
The situation has become increasingly tense, with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, publicly expressing frustration over the transfer speculation surrounding his client. In a strongly worded statement, Calenda criticized the media’s portrayal of Osimhen, stating, “I read about fanciful exchanges involving Victor. He’s being shipped here and there as if he were a package to be delivered quickly. This ‘package,’ however, is the top scorer of Napoli’s third Scudetto in history. Despite the outburst, Osimhen is reportedly considering a move to Chelsea, albeit on loan, in a bid to move things forward. The transfer would also see Romelu Lukaku make the move to Napoli, accommodating both clubs in the process.
